The first period was undoubtedly marked by a sense of general bewilderment, the stores closed, the lockdown, and nobody knew what was going to happen next. 2020 was quite terrible, no need to beat around the bush. In the first months of 2021, the market seems ready to get back on track, at least high-end fashion brands have resumed their sales. However, there were expectations for a stronger rebound in 2021, instead the process in more gradual. The delay in the vaccination schedule has deeply affected said trend, let’s hope for a more marked recovery next fall.
Have you noticed some changes production-wise in terms of accessories collections?
For sure, there is less room for bolder articles, both colour-wise and in terms of galvanic treatments. Brands prefer something classic, probably they don’t want to take any risk. The demand for studs has experienced a slight slowdown, in favour of simpler, smoother solutions.
Has the crisis resulted in a price war in your sector as well?
Competition has certainly grown a bit fiercer as well as the downward trend concerning trends, but, given that we deal with a high-quality, constantly monitored product, our prices are understood and accepted. Furthermore, creativity is another key factor: in some cases, “copying” items has become a pretty common practice. Luckily enough, we know how to stand out. Our customers appreciate our care as they seek for a fair price as well as a sheltered, controlled production.
What are Wealth’s distinctive traits?
We can rely on our skills and know-how. We guarantee the highest quality standards and comply with delivery schedules; the feedback has always been positive and customers basically never send back the articles. If we were lacking the required expertise to carry out these tasks, we would be out of business already. Price is important, yet not the only defining element. Therefore, for us, it is difficult to attend trade shows: image-wise, it does not sound right, nor possible, to put on display a tailor-made item, longtime customers might be displeased. For us, it is far more useful to go visit the customers, even existing ones: personal relationships make the difference. It is a sector that has been experiencing a significant evolution, putting customer loyalty in the limelight.
