Arzignano, former marly’s purchased by the municipality

Arzignano Deputy Mayor Marcigaglia announced the operation that will lead to the construction of a new facility, also available to local business. Reaffirmed commitment to environmental sustainability

On the occasion of the 2022 edition of ProssimaPelle in the capital of the leather district, Arzignano’s deputy mayor Enrico Marcigaglia, who is also councillor for security, commerce, tourism and communication, made an important announcement during the opening ceremony. “The municipality has decided to purchase the Ex Marly’s building,” he said, “which will be renovated and where a conference room will also be created, as well as new exhibition spaces. The goal is to make it a facility available to associations, businesses and entrepreneurs for events of various kinds that can be distinctive for our city and our economy. The first economic commitment on the part of the municipality is aimed at the purchase, with the process to be completed by the beginning of 2023, then we will move on to the design phase and the tender for the construction work. We hope for a quick timeframe, so we give everyone an opportunity to meet in the near future when the area is completely renovated, also through a plant restyling, to give maximum hospitality to this quality of events.”
“The purchase of the former Marly’s,” the Councilor added, while Mayor Alessia Bevilacqua spoke at the review in the following hours, stopping to talk at length with the entrepreneurs, “is not a project for its own sake but rather is based on the fact that the administration of Arzignano, the leather district and the entire strategic supply chain that orbits around this economy represent the founding elements of our city. Last spring, we registered at the Ministry of the Interior the trademark “Arzignano Leather Capital,” which is intended to be a collective property, therefore not only of the municipality, but also of all citizens and companies in order to carry forward that principle of fusion and collaboration not only corporate but also cultural that can give maximum value to the great tanning district that characterizes our valley.”
“We are very clear about the goals to be pursued,” concluded Enrico Marcigaglia, “It will take time to develop all the projects aimed at enhancing Arzignano and its business activity, but we will work hard. Events like ProssimaPelle represent the “heart” of what we are planning for the coming years. Above all, we thank the organizers for choosing Arzignano again, and we renew the invitation for the following years as well, when we will try to further improve the exhibition space. I also thank the local entrepreneurs who are the pillar of these activities, confirming and reaffirming the administration’s strong commitment to the environmental issue: the world of chemistry is one of the main actors for that process of improvement that we all know is necessary, citizens, organizations and committees remind us. It is no coincidence that within “Arzignano Capital of Leather” we wanted to include the environmental committees because we all have to work together toward a single direction to achieve the set goals, which we are convinced are within the reach of our capabilities and technologies.”
