Dienpi, futuristic vision

Big investments at Dienpi: innovation, excellence and value creation for clients complement a commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Located in the picturesque coastal town of San Benedetto del Tronto, Dienpi stands as one of the most creative businesses in the region. Fashion, often considered an art, finds its incarnation in this firm, a company that has been able to interpret it with boundless creativity and innovation. Officially founded in 2011, Dienpi relies on three decades of in-depth experience in the field of fashion accessories on the part of its founders. The company addresses both the national and international markets, designing and producing accessories for clothing and footwear, thanks to a complete managing of the process, from the initial graphic design phase to the production of prototypes and samples. Over the years, Dienpi has expanded its infrastructure, covering a 2,500 square meter-area, modernizing a production wing equipped with state-of-the-art 4.0 technology. This strategy ensures that Dienpi can offer customers unparalleled production capabilities and creativity unmatched in the market, embodying excellence in the fashion accessories sector, characterized by an uncompromising commitment to product quality, environmental sustainability, ethics and technological innovation. Supported by the passion and dedication of its founders and employees, Dienpi has successfully established itself both nationally and internationally: its craftsmanship and decorations on fine leathers and countless types of materials have let Dienpi become a reference point in the industry. Central to its vision is the foresight to anticipate customers’ needs. As co-founder Doriana Marini explains, the company is committed to creating truly unique fashion products by combining extraordinary creative skills with the latest production technologies. This year, the handbag sector will also include the finished product. Dienpi goes beyond the mere concept of a fashion accessories company; it serves as a laboratory of ideas where creativity and innovation come together to create extraordinary products. Every item made by Dienpi is the result of meticulous research and an artisanal production process that guarantees excellence in every detail. What truly distinguishes the company is its ability to anticipate future trends and meet the desires of its clients.
What are the new developments at Dienpi?
“There are many and we are happy to share them with you. We have taken major steps forward in our handbag workshop, expanding it to offer an even more comprehensive range of services and products. In addition to the processing of semi-finished products for bags and shoes, we are now able to produce finished bags directly in our workshop. We have also introduced a dedicated workshop for prototyping and small productions, which allows us to manage all stages of the process in-house. From start to finish, we are able to follow in-house the cutting, printing, embroidery embossing and, above all, the construction of the bag, including details. We have reached a new level of excellence, offering our customers a complete ‘A to Z’ service. We are now able to manage the entire production cycle, including the design, the paper pattern and the production of the finished bag. This allows us to guarantee total control over quality and to offer products of the highest standard.”
What were the factors that led to the decision to expand the handbag workshop?
“We made significant investments, both in equipment and space, as well as in human resources. The decision to enhance our offer and improve customer service was quick. With the introduction of in-house automatic cutting, our clients now know that they can send us the whole leather directly instead of just the semi- finished products. This makes the process easier for them, as they no longer have to deal with the inspection and cutting of the leather at the tannery or at the cutting workshop. We can now manage these steps in-house, offering them a complete service. In addition to cutting, we can also handle other processes such as printing, embossing and other special techniques in-house. This eliminates the need to switch between different workshops, which wastes time, money and energy on transportation. The step towards this extension of our skills was quick and natural. A client asked us one day: if you can cut the leather, embroider it and print it, why can’t you also make the finished bag? We started thinking about this possibility out of curiosity, almost as a game, but we realised it was an interesting opportunity and decided to invest in it. It is important to emphasise that we are not aiming to become a company geared towards the production of large quantities. Our added value lies in the production of bags that incorporate our specialised workmanship. Producing the finished bag is an additional service that we wanted to offer our clients. Our goal is to continue to meet the needs of our clients, offering them a complete and high- quality service. We are excited about this new opportunity and are confident that it will help us increase our market position. Our company is focused on innovation, excellence and creating value for our clients.”
Do you confirm that the trend among clients is to have fewer and fewer external contacts and, if possible, a single contact person?
“Certainly, our clients prefer to have a single point of contact, or at least as few as possible. In this way, a relationship of mutual trust can be established, based on proven quality, reliable responsiveness and recognised creativity. This relationship of trust and collaboration allows us to offer a high level of service that exceeds our clients’ expectations.”
When did you start producing the bags?
“We started production of the finished product this year, on all stages. As far as processing is concerned, we are well equipped. In particular, we have recently invested in the embroidery department, with the purchase of a large laser bridge and three special embroidery machines. We have also upgraded our screen-printing department by equipping ourselves with a precision automatic screen printing machine. In this way, we strengthened our printing and embroidery capacity. Last year, we invested in a high frequency machine and laser to offer perfect embossing and engraving. In terms of productivity, we are satisfied with the results achieved. We are able to meet the demands of our clients with quality, speed and flexibility.”
What are the biggest challenges you are facing at the moment, Doriana?
“Our priority is to consolidate our position in the market, providing our clients with an excellent service. Right now, the biggest challenge is to continue to maintain the enthusiasm of the younger generation for our work. Fortunately, we are a young and dynamic company, and many young people who come to intern with us decide to stay. This is because the working environment is stimulating and creative, and allows them to express their talents. My challenge is to maintain this atmosphere in the future as the company grows. I don’t want our growth to lead us to lose our humanity and passion. I would like all our employees to be happy and satisfied with their work, and to feel that they are part of one big family.”
How do you measure the impact of your corporate social responsibility projects?
“As a company, we have always been attentive to human resources. We were the first company of the sector in the Marche region to obtain the S8000 ethical certification, which specifically concerns respect for workers. Over time, we have also obtained all the other relevant certifications, such as ISO9001 for quality, 14,001 for the environment, and also GRS and Gots. We believe that a company must also have ethical, social and environmental value. It must set an example in the sector and in the territory in which it operates. This year, for example, we financed the project “a tree for the future”, planting a city forest in our town to help reduce CO2 emissions. We invited all schools to participate, including children, because we believe that environmental education should start from the youngest. We have also continued to finance projects concerning the world of youth, such as helping children in difficulty and building a school dedicated to the sea for young people who, in addition to practicing sports, can understand the importance of protecting water. These are all very important projects, which we believe can improve the lives of people and our area. We would also like to make a contribution, even if it will be a drop in the ocean, to help companies in difficulty in Tuscany. I hope for Christmas. We are convinced that if all companies donated something to their territory, they would do good for everyone”
