Moro Minuterie, excellence and innovation in the small metal parts sector

Moro Minuterie, the company that puts quality, innovation and the client at the centre, to offer high-end solutions also in the work & safety sector.

Padua is preparing to commemorate an important milestone in the industrial world: Moro Minuterie, a Paduan company founded in 1974, is ready to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2024. The company, a point of reference in the field of small metal parts, has won the respect and admiration of customers and competitors across five decades of challenges and successes. It has achieved this thanks to a constant commitment to renovation and product quality, distinguished by meticulous attention to detail and the ability to anticipate market needs. The secret of success lies in the passion and dedication of the founders and the team, as well as the continuous search for new technologies and investment in state-of-the-art machinery. The company has also established solid and long-lasting relationships with important business partners, becoming a reference point for the supply of small precision metal parts. The company is looking to the future with optimism, aiming to consolidate its presence on the national and international market, and is preparing to write a new chapter in its success story, confirming its commitment that has distinguished it since its inception. Silvia Moro, second generation at the head of the Padua company, answered our questions in an interview during Lineapelle.
You participated in Lineapelle after a few years of absence: how did it go?
“This is our first participation since the last edition in February 2020. At that time, we decided to stop for a moment even after the end of the COVID-19 emergency, because we had no major new products to present. During this period, we worked hard to develop a new collection with some interesting new developments. We are pleased with how it has been received by customers, who have shown great interest in our products. In particular, we have seen strong interest in our new Work&Safety accessory lines, which are designed to meet the needs of he most demanding consumers. Let’s say it was positive. The second day, in particular, was a lucrative one. We made new contacts so we are confident. We have the feeling that this stagnant moment is coming to an end.”
Could you tell us in more detail about these items?
“As far as eyelets are concerned, we have proposed a new range of products with very glossy finishes and unique shapes. They are also available with glitter and applications, for an extra touch of glamour. In addition, we have developed combinations of zamak and brass, which make it possible to realise various shapes and designs, also according to specific client requests. With regard to safety shoes, specifically, we have developed a series of decorative and coloured washers in several colours to create customised combinations. We have also developed rubber versions, which are lighter and more comfortable, and bright colours dedicated to Women’s Safety.”
Style is increasingly influencing footwear in the Work&Safety sector, are you seeing a greater demand for more glamorous accessories?
“The trend in the Work&Safety sector is to adopt a more minimal style, eliminating all unnecessary accessories. However, we believe that more glamorous small parts can be a distinguishing feature for manufacturers, allowing them to stand out from the competition. In line with this trend, we have come up with a series of products that combine safety with aesthetics. Our eyelets, even those with a glossy finish or more unusual shapes, for example, can add a distinctive trait without affecting its performance.”
How do you see the future of the Work&Safety sector?
“Our goal is to help our customers sell more through our accessories, which must be both safe and aesthetically appealing. We believe that safety is paramount, but aesthetics are equally important. People want to wear safety footwear that is both functional and fashionable. To achieve this, we are committed to developing products that are innovative, high quality and compliant with regulations.”
What is the relationship between innovation and customer demands for you at the moment?
“Innovation is essential for us. We are always looking for new materials and new forms that can improve the safety and comfort of work footwear. For the same quality and performance, we focus on innovation from a creative and stylistic point of view, to satisfy the needs of our clients.”
How important is the Work&Safety market for you?
“Our three primary sectors are Fashion, Comfort and Work&Safety, and each of them accounts for one third of our turnover. Diversification is important to us; it is a key strategy for success because it allows us to reduce risk and grow sustainably. Markets are increasingly volatile and unpredictable, and companies that focus on one sector or market are more vulnerable to shocks and unforeseen events.”
A project you have been working on for a long time, a curiosity, a dream in the sky, that you would like to see realised?
“Among my greatest wish is that for the third generation to gradually enter the company, so to lead it in the future with passion, letting Moro Minuterie grow while preserving the values and ethics of its founder. I am proud of what we have achieved in these fifty years of business. We started as a small family business, and today we are a leading company in the small metal parts industry. I believe the company has great potential for the future. Global markets are constantly changing, and companies that want to be successful must be able to adapt to the changes. I am confident that my sons will be able to lead the company into this new era of growth.”
