Gruppo Fenice, Zero-impact chemistry

This is the goal of Fenice, heading to the future positively and proactively, focusing on people and innovation in the sign of quality and environmental compatibility

“Despite this being a time of market concern about the trend we will see in the coming months, we remain not only positive but also proactive,” said Katia Zini, Sales Export, and Tiberio Peripoli, Shoes & Leather Goods Division Manager of Fenice Group, at the latest edition of Lineapelle. “When caution prevails, the tendency to slow down and look around for fear of what will be, that’s precisely in this moment that Fenice’s DNA stands out, tenaciously reaffirming its desire to explore new trends and new types of products. Giving a ‘firm push’ has always been the hallmark of the people who have made the company what we see today.” In short, the main objective of the Italian industrial group has always been to improve, simplify, and make environmentally compatible the technology for the finishing, care and maintenance of leather and its products.

“We are approaching the world of release coating, rotopress- applied polyurethane films from renewable sources for extremely attractive, matt/satin, soft and durable finishes. Our Waterstain® Blue Jeans leather coloring is derived from natural dyes and through it a very special washed-out denim effect can be obtained on absorbent crust leather in a single application. Beside this, we are increasingly investing in Leather Care, a sector dedicated to the care, maintenance and repair of leather goods.

A clientele – driven by luxury brands – who asks us for immediate and optimal solutions, in the wake of end consumers’ demand for quality products starting from the raw material up to their post-consumption regeneration, so that they come back to new life after long use. This fits with our firm belief that the concept of “longlasting” is absolutely relevant now more than ever. Our relationship with the major global brands has grown exponentially not only thanks to the high quality and performance of the solutions we offer, but also to the increasingly widespread technical assistance provided throughout Italy and abroad. That’s not all. Achieving ZDHC Level 3 certification places us among the companies with the highest level of the ZDHC ‘Roadmap to Zero’ program for leather chemicals.”

In short, the road is marked out and Fenice is investing to stay one step ahead and ready to forecast the demands. “Fenice is working to have an increasingly smaller climate impact through investment in renewable energy, waste reduction and recycling of washing water. Every day we ask our researchers to tackle more and more challenging projects, stimulated by the sensitivity that the company has towards relevant issues such as respect for the environment.”
