Innovation and Safety at Work with the new ‘Hiking’ Footwear

In its constant commitment to innovation and safety in the workplace, UNIWORK is launching great innovations intended to redefine the standards of protection and comfort for workers in all sectors. Boasting a history full of successes and a distinctive footprint in the safety industry, Uniwork keeps on raising the bar of technology and design, offering increasingly advanced solutions to ensure utmost protection in even demanding working environments.
The ‘Hiking’ line of footwear has been launched on the market at the end of January 2024. This line is designed with a concept that recalls that of mountain trekking, made with an LG dual-density polyurethane sole with ‘stairs grip’.
These models mean a significant step forward in the safety footwear sector. Inspired by the reliability, durability and functionality required in mountain environments, the company has developed a range of footwear designed to tackle the most complex challenges in the workplace.
These shoes not only incorporate design elements and materials that recall the look and performance of trekking shoes, but also go further, integrating innovative technologies to ensure top safety and comfort. Light but robust materials, non-slip soles suitable for all types of terrain combine with the values of resistance, determination and resilience, which are reflected in the company’s approach to workplace safety.
The new company slogan ‘Making Your Safety Better’ embodies the UNIWORK’s ultimate commitment to constantly improve the safety of its customers. This claim represents a tangible commitment to innovation and constant improvement of the accident prevention solutions offered. The company is committed to achieving this goal through unceasing research and development of innovative technologies, advanced materials and ergonomic designs. Each product bearing the company’s mark is the result of a rigorous development and testing process, aimed at ensuring maximum protection and comfort to the wearer.
Despite the growing international presence in this sector, the high technological and qualitative level of ‘Made in Italy’ production, a leading label in the production of work footwear, remains a stronghold. The innovative proposal in terms of design and comfort that comes from Italy is unparalleled, taking advantage from the world of fashion, in which this country excels. It is also essential for UNIWORK to keep on being a source of inspiration for creativity and innovation, even in a traditionally conservative sector such as workplace safety.

Cosimo Vitobello began his adventure in the footwear sector in 1958, transforming his workshop over time into a real factory. Over Teak was founded in 1990, in response to the need to expand and improve the production range, and in 1996 the production of safety footwear was introduced with Uniwork, now a brand with great results, with a new production line. Giuseppe Vitobello, a son of Cosimo and Managing Director of Over Teak, and Gianfranco Battaglia, Marketing & Development Management, told us about their experience at the fair.

“The A+A trade fair in Dusseldorf was an opportunity for Uniwork to present numerous innovations. Starting with a renewed form of communication more focused on the products displayed to the public, which were reflected in the new catalogues. There is one general catalogue with all articles in production, another one dedicated to articles in stock and one for a line with soles by Michelin that we will be launching in the second half of this year, characterised by a strong reference to the world of racing, automotive and beyond.

While among the new lines we have particularly focused on shoes that recall the trekking concept called ‘Hiking’.
In addition, it was an opportunity to launch the new slogan ‘Making Your Safety Better’ that will forever accompany UNIWORK, with which we confirm the mission of the company to create increasingly high-performance footwear that concretely improves safety in workplaces and environments.

As A+A is a trade fair with a strong international character, it allowed us to profitably interact with distribution organisations that cover territories very distant from our European context. Also very positive was the opportunity, during the four-day event, to be able to interact with all our clients and many others with whom a constructive dialogue was opened to establish new business agreements.

The A+A in Düsseldorf once again confirmed to us that the safety sector is growing, market demand is high, and this is confirmed by the very wide range on offer from European and Far Eastern companies.
In spite of the strong international focus of our sector’s offer, the high technological and qualitative level of Made in Italy companies is still of central value. Among work footwear manufacturers, they represent those with the best innovative proposals in terms of look and comfort, bringing out the experiences that come from the fashion world on which Italy has few rivals in the world. The most beautiful product ideas come out of our country, even in a sector like safety where in the past we had been quite conservative.

This is why we believe that real partnership ( utilising the means of the National and Territorial Industrial Associations), when organising these fairs, could have an important positive impact on the high exhibition costs with adequate ‘ICE’ contributions, increasing the visibility of Made in Italy companies more than many other realities, such as the German ones that playing ‘at home’ have enjoyed obvious advantages thanks to the vast exhibition spaces made available to them.”
