The Chinese Chamber of Commerce promoted a collective of leading companies.

A collective of footwear entrepreneurs promoted by the Chinese government exhibited for the  first time at Micam – Milan (the international exhibition dedicated to footwear and accessories,  from 19 to 21 September) thanks to the organization of the China Chamber of Commerce for  Import and Export of Light Industrial Products and Arts-Crafts (CCCLA).

“Premium China Footwear & Accessories” is a commercial platform of the China Chamber of Commerce, which aims to promote Chinese brands of footwear and related accessories on the European market, integrating with the European industry, in order to establish a relationship that ensures advantages to both areas. Founded in 1988, it is a national organization made up of producers, importers and exporters of daily consumer products and today has more than 13,000 members (all the most important companies in terms of size). The Chinese Chamber of Commerce is actively engaged in promoting exchanges and cooperation between the footwear and accessories industries at home and abroad as well as exporting footwear and fashion accessories. In recent years it has established good cooperative relations with European and US governments and the most important business associations in Italy and Germany. The goal is to jointly promote the development of the China-Europe footwear and accessories industries with a fruitful cooperation between China and Europe, on a global level.

The most representative and important Chinese footwear brands were at Micam, such as Sheme, the first Chinese luxury brand (which took part in the Paris, London and New York Fashion Weeks); Erke, a brand specializing in footwear and sportswear; Kangnai, one of China’s most important men’s footwear brands, with more than three hundred stores in the country and over one hundred abroad, and collaborations with international brands such as, among others, Hugo Boss and Calvin Klein; Aokang, Shunpu, Desay, Ranch, Clorts, Jacata, Max Bahr, Oak, Yonghong, Bagsmart, Ecosusi, Tourit and other Chinese companies that already work for well-known brands on the European and American markets will also be present: in addition to offering themselves as valid partners for the private label, they will also exhibit their own branded products.

According to Chinese customs statistics, from January to November 2019, the total value of Chinese footwear imports and exports reached 48 billion dollars: exports amounted to 42 billion, 900 million dollars, while imports accounted for 5 billion, 100 million dollars. From the EU, China imports footwear from Italy. In recent years, the market share of Chinese footwear in Italy has remained substantially unchanged and has been around 15%.

The United States and the EU represent the main import market for the Chinese product in the world and in the last three years according to GTA (Global Trade Atlas) data, China’s market share of exports to the United States increased from 56% in 2017, to 50% in 2019, while on the EU market it lost only one percentage point, going from 42% in 2017 to 41% in 2019.
