Arte Tessile: a tape that unites the city of Teramo with the world, from fashion to art. Its touch of class has also conquered Versace, which has honored it as a supplier of excellence.
Not far from the picturesque town of Teramo, a company transforms yarns into true works of art: Arte Tessile. Founded in 2010, the company has established itself as a benchmark in the sector of tape production, combining craftsmanship, creativity and technology. Its creations are appreciated by major international brands, such as Versace, Prada and StellaMcCartney, and find application in various fields, from footwear to leather goods to clothing. Each tape produced is the result of a meticulous production process that combines ancient textile traditions with modern technology. The company employs a team of experienced craftsmen, who work with care and precision to create one-of-a-kind tapes, rich in high-quality details and finishes. Inspired by the latest trends in fashion and interior design, the collections of Arte Tessile offer a wide range of colors, patterns and textures. Quality is an essential value for the company, which carefully selects the best raw materials and adopts the most efficient production processes to guarantee the highest quality of its tapes. Each product undergoes rigorous quality control to ensure that it meets the high standards of the company and the expectations of its most demanding clients. Arte Tessile is a constantly evolving company that invests in young managers and new technologies to expand its range of products and services. The focus on innovation also translates into a solid commitment to environmental sustainability. The company was among the first in Italy to obtain the GRS – Global Recycled Standard certification, which attests to the use of recycled materials in production. Arte Tessile is also involved in a series of green projects, including the creation of a photovoltaic park, the use of organic yarns and the elimination of non-recyclable plastic packaging. These investments have enabled the company to consolidate its leadership position in the fashion industry, to meet the needs of an increasingly sustainability-conscious market, and to offer a customization service that is unique in its sector. In fact, the company works closely with its clients to create tailor-made tapes that meet their specific needs. This consultancy approach makes Arte Tessile a reliable partner for designers, stylists and companies looking for a unique and distinctive touch for their products. At a time of growth and development for the company, comes an important recognition from Versace, one of the top Italian luxury brands. Arte Tessile has been named ‘Supplier of Excellence for the RTW Raw Materials category’, following years of collaboration. This recognition is a great source of pride for the company, confirming the quality of its products and services, and a sign of appreciation for the work of all the people who contribute to the success of Arte Tessile, as its sole director, Pierluigi Marino, tells us.
How do you combine craftsmanship and creativity with technological evolution and digitization?
“Ours is an Italian company specializing in the production of high-quality tapes. Our attention to the choice of fine yarns and the manual processing of materials are elements that give our product a unique value. Researching the type of yarn to be used is one of our main activities. We analyze color trends and focus on finding the most suitable type of yarn to make certain types of articles. We handle a wide range of materials, such as cotton, polyester, cotton and various textile fibers, both natural and synthetic. The craftsmanship part of our work is evident in the entire production process, from the search for yarns to the manual processing of materials. Technology is only the last piece of the whole process. The manual skill we employ in the process of threading the yarns in the loom is essential and irreplaceable. Our work is characterized by niche production, where we focus on relatively low quantities, such as perhaps 300-400 meters of tape. However, in these limited meters, we can incorporate different colors and combine different processing techniques, creating a product of excellence thanks to the craftsmanship of our employees. Our focus on quality and attention to detail are elements that give our product a unique value.”
What are your current plans in terms of developing new products and services, with particular attention on sustainability?
“Arte Tessile has always been committed to sustainability. We were among the first tape factories in Italy to obtain GRS certification in 2019. We continue to invest in this area, developing new sustainable products and services. For example, we are working on biodegradable nylon and GOTS yarn, which is a popular organic cotton. In addition to general-purpose tapes, we also produce nautical tapes, which require very high-strength fibers. We are able to meet the needs of any type of customer, thanks to our wide range of products and our ability to provide impeccable service. In particular, we focus on the constant availability of yarn in stock, to ensure quick and timely delivery to our clients, who are mostly fashion brands.”
How do you assess the importance of customer service in your industry?
“We attribute enormous importance to customer service, and this was confirmed by the recognition we received from Versace. 40 per cent of the overall experience is service, 40 per cent quality and only 20 per cent price. I have structured our company according to the same principle: my goal is not so much the volume of turnover, but the production of very high-quality tapes, offering exceptional customer service. This translates into a fast response to emails and requests, as well as maximum efficiency in production, with delivery times of no more than three weeks, compared to the Italian average of five or six weeks. Our goal is to offer an all-consuming customer service. If you were to ask me what our main goal is, I would answer that it is to constantly improve service and quality for the brands and all the companies we work with. If we can achieve these two goals, the price factor really becomes marginal. Our priority is to create a relationship of trust with our customers, constantly demonstrating our commitment to providing impeccable service and high-quality products that are in line with the expectations of our prestigious business partners. We are focused on unceasingly optimizing service and quality for the brands and companies we work with, knowing that price becomes a secondary variable when we are able to fully meet their needs.”
