Due Diligence for healthy workplaces in Tanneries – Final Conference October 2018 Bruxell
The Conference constitutes the main public event. Up to a 100 VIPs from the European leather value chain, stakeholders, regulators and sector observers will be in attendance. The objective is to bring together a critical mass of opinion shapers and decision makers with regard to due diligence in the supply of leather and leather products to the EU market.
Panel One will address reputational risks due to health and safety issues at tannery workplaces. The survey can serve as starting intelligence for the debates.
Panel Two will address standards and instruments for communicating tannery health and safety conditions along the leather value chain. The Risk Assessment tool should serve as an example of an instrument produced by the Social Partners in Social Dialogue. The self-assessment reports that the OiRA tool produces could be such an instrument in the supply chain for communications.
