Dermacolor D-LIGHT BLUE ensures consumption savings up to 50%

At the Tanning Tech Show in Milan, Dermacolor displayed its technology based on social and environmental sustainability

A saving in energy costs that reaches an average of 50% of the total. This is guaranteed by D-LIGHT BLUE, a certified system that Dermacolor srl, specialized in the design and manufacture of chemical products for leather processing, has decided to present again in the 2022 edition of the Tanning Tech Exhibition of Milan at the end of September. It is an innovative process developed in the laboratories of the company, based in Castelfranco di Sotto (Pisa province), with the aim of achieving social and environmental sustainability. This certified chrome tanning process, which is based on specific Dermacolor products, guarantees results that are comparable to the traditional process, while ensuring significant reductions in production costs and environmental impact.
“We have decided to bring this process forward; – confirmed Valentina Palagini, interviewed during the fair – it is not new, but it increasingly represents a strength in light of the current problems linked to energy costs. This product already aroused interest over the years, but now it has become almost indispensable for a tannery, or for other so-called “energy- intensive” companies.
For the tannery, however, this does not mean to change the way of working, but to refine it, actually saving 50% of energy on processing. The impression is that, after all, every tanning entrepreneur is forced to make important choices to reduce management costs.” Always alongside tanners, Dermacolor keeps on developing real solutions to optimize products and processes and to solve the different problems that arise every day in the tannery. In this regard, the ZERO bisphenol line also represents another solution to be used in one’s production system to improve environmental results. “To date, several tanneries have tested the products of this line and have actually found the advantages.”
For Dermacolor the balance of this edition of the exhibition is substantially positive. “Overall, there was a good flow – specifies Valentina Palagini – especially on the second day. Surely there was a lack of operators from the East, an area of great interest for Dermacolor, and some of our foreign agents were unable to participate due to problems related to visa restrictions. On the other hand, Simac Tanning Tech is confirmed to be an important hub to present the solutions and news, and Dermacolor was not caught off guard.”
