EL.PA. Service, “Confidence in the future, the headquarters in Indonesia is strategic”

From the beginning of 2024 EL.PA. Service, specialized in tanning automation, will rely on a new warehouse. And in the meantime, an “area manager” in the East with other companies has been established

EL.PA Service, leader in the hi-tech tanning electromechanics sector, which produces complete systems and specific equipment for leather finishing, stood out among those exhibitors of Simac Tanning Tech who look towards 2024 with renewed confidence. The company, headquartered in Altavilla Vicentina (Vicenza) and founded in 1997 by Andrea Pegoraro, owner, will rely on a new warehouse located next to the current headquarters from January 2024, thus boosting the surface of its indoor area and providing a useful space rearrangement.
“The investments for the new headquarters have been huge – specified Pegoraro, whom we met inside his stand, which was once again painted with the new two colors that identify the brand, black and orange – but we strongly believe in this, therefore we have studied a development program that will characterize the next few years. For the new machines, the market is mostly asking for sustainable products, lower consumption, remote management, reliability but above all versatility, a concept that we have also been pursuing for a few years. Currently, those who purchase, in particular when the cost is significant, expect a machine to be versatile for multiple sectors. This trend, in my opinion, represents the future.”
“We have already designed and developed – he continues – lines also suitable for the textile sector for a renowned Italian automotive company, acquiring important experience in this regard, also motivated by this customer. As regards our main sector, namely the plants for the processing of high-quality leather, at the end of 2022 we got an important order: it is a very ambitious relaunch project by the Conceria del Chienti of Tolentino (Macerata), in the Marche region, one of the oldest tanneries in Italy – it was founded in 1923, thus boasting 100 years of history. With the top management of what is the only Italian tannery owned by the State (Invitalia) for 49% and the remaining 51% by private investors we closed the supply order, to carry out an important technological modernization focused on circular sustainability (environmental, social, energetic and economic), relating to the entire finishing department. The modernization project, called CTC 100+100, will end in mid-2024.”
Among the flagships of the Vicenza-based company there is also an operational office in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, thanks to the collaboration with a historic former employee, Guido Frizzarin, who worked for 11 years in EL.PA., managing the commercial sector of those areas and then moving to that country in 2019. “It’s a commercial model that appeals to many – specifies Pegoraro – we were lucky enough that one of our trusted employees moved to live in Indonesia, immediately we have started an active partnership by founding a “reference point” in Asia, opening an office in the center of the capital together with Baggio Tecnologie srl, managed entirely by Guido. We have recently added a further brand to give more strength to the representation of the companies that support our consultant: now there are three of us, we from EL.PA., Baggio Tecnologie from Tezze sul Brenta and Escomar from Arzignano. These are all brands from the Vicenza cluster, highly specialized and competent for their sector and not in competition with each other. It’s something well balanced, to present ourselves well in those 3-4 eastern countries’ market in which we have entered. The geographical position of the “Asia Point” allows for frequent technical-commercial visits to the eastern countries, in particular India, currently the most interesting country among those of the East.”
And finally, here’s the closing assessment of the Milanese trade fair.
“There was – concludes the owner of EL.PA. Service srl – a good attendance of professionals, especially on the second day, the central one, which has always been the most interesting in terms of turnout. As regards foreign operators, aside from the Indians, certainly the most numerous, we saw little of the Chinese and those from the other Far East states. For setting up the stand we preferred to keep the same layout of the last year, when we celebrated the 25th anniversary of our foundation, a historic goal, that, for us, at the same time represents a starting point towards new goals.”
