The world is running and Gamar Italia wants to be among the first ones, leading the way in the development of healthy, sustainable fashion in the name of innovative functionality and design. 2022 already featured many innovations: the QLS with anodized finish, the hooks in PA6 Göteborg and Madrid, the iridescent chains on a transparent and smoky base, the Titan coloring and now, at Lineapelle fair, the company will show a new, revolutionary patent which have been named Quick-Off. Quick-Off is a locking system for laces, strings or tapes, created to be mechanically applied to the upper (for footwear) or to a reinforced technical fabric (for clothing). It looks like an eyelet, with a free passage area for the sliding of the laces and a second area, within its central shape, where the lace can be dragged gradually up till its complete locking. The accessory is as simple as it is ingenious and the advantages are many compared to the locking devices currently in use. For the world of footwear, to which Gamar Italia is more linked to, the Quick-Off concept works as an alternative to the traditional “U” hooks, especially on mountain and trekking shoes. One of the advantages of this new accessory is that it’s flush with the upper, it does not protrude and therefore does not run the risk of hooking itself to obstacles or breaking against some rocks. It is much more resistant than traditional hooks, it features a more compact and lighter structure and it can also be produced in zamak or steel by applying it as a normal eyelet. It also come in plastic or bio-plastic composite with a sewable flange. Quick-Off has an alternative and improved configuration, both in terms of construction and in of functionality compared to known solutions. In the classic shoe with laces, it increases the tightness of the knot over time because the locking guarantees a lower tension of the laces in correspondence with the knot itself and speeds up the lacing operation by improving the gesture and the bio- mechanical movement of the hands during use and lock activation. Simple aspects, but able to make the difference when the Quick-off solution is used on high-performance sports and technical shoes, on which ergonomics, grip and weight are primary aspects.
