Hardy “Happy to have participated in Simac Tanning Tech”

HARDY, renowned British company providing quality leather shaving and fleshing knives, successfully attended the latest Tanning Tech show, meant as a restart signal for the whole industry

Based in Aintree, Liverpool and founded more than 160 years ago, Hardy is today a well-established firm in the field of professional knives and blades, always at the forefront of evolving technology in design and manufacture for the global leather industry.
After almost a two-year stop, the company was happy to attend the most important show of the sector held last September in Milan: “We were really there – said Jeffrey Bassett, Chairman, and Peter Oxspring, Managing Director – in support of our expo host, Simac Tanning Tech and the global leather industry. It was important to be there so to give the sector a sign of resilience and restart”.
Hardy’s blades, made using carefully selected high grade steel, are designed to get the very highest quality finish and yield in the production of leather, as efficiently as possible. As a matter of fact, quality and, most of all, precision, are the most-appreciated features that make the company stand out among competitors. “Finding that Hardy was the only shaving and fleshing blade producer to attend the show, was quite surprising; we were delighted by the warm reception we received and happy to finally shake hands with our long-term partners.”
A constant focus on innovative technologies and sustainable manufacturing is leading the company towards the future, always with a keen eye on customers’ needs and a quick delivery service: “The market is facing slow responses and long lead times, but we are still able to meet the customers’ need in 2-3 days from order, as Hardy carries plentiful stocks which are promptly available.”
Hardy, whose export rate accounts for more than 90% of sales, boasts customers worldwide, most of which were not able to attend the show due to the travel limitations brought on by Covid spread. “Admittedly – conclude the managers – the travel restrictions meant that a lot of our global business partners were not able to attend, for example those coming from India, China and Asia in general; the rate was definitely lower that the usual one. But we were glad to meet those from all around Europe, as well as from North Africa, Turkey and Pakistan. This is not a ‘Zoom’ industry, we need to meet, discuss and shake hands: we look forward to get back to normality and welcoming our full range of customers in September 2022.”
