Double “institutional” initiative for the Distretto Veneto della Pelle, one of the most important industrial systems in the world, who exhibited at the end of September at the Eurocongress Iultcs and at Lineapelle, hosted respectively at the Vicenza and at Milan fairgrounds. In the first case, the District was among the financing partners of the international itinerant event, which took place for the first time in Italy; at the Milan fairs Lineapelle and at Simac Tanning Tech, it supported the 22 exhibiting companies members of the District, all of the province of Vicenza.
“We could not miss the two events – explains Matteo Macilotti, who took over from Chiara Carradore in the position of District Director at the beginning of September – as we support the local leather industries, which in terms of turnover represent 14% of the total world leather production and 60% of the Italian one. Our attention and the involvement is transversal, as it does not
concern tanners only, but the technology producers and chemical companies as well, which for decades have been an extraordinary driving force in terms of economics and employment in our area”.
“Specifically, it was important to be in Milan – continues Macilotti, who is also mayor of Chiampo, a town in the homonym valley – because in three days we had the opportunity to visit all our members and even to talk about current issues of the leather sector with other bodies and associations during one of the most important fairs in the world. Even if it has not been defined yet, I believe that Distretto Veneto della Pelle will participate at Lineapelle 2023 editions with its own booth. We are proud to see our associates exhibiting there; as they represent the biggest companies of our area, in future we would like to somehow become a point of reference for the smaller ones, members of our District, which are not structured to exhibit but visit the fair for commercial reasons. It is a project that we will discuss in the next months, with the aim of offering a useful service”.
