Two years after being acquired by the Gastaldello family, the renowned tanning machines brand is ready to launch new technologies on the market
Poletto, a worldwide pioneer brand in the production of machinery for the tanning industry, is back in the limelight on the Italian and international market. In the spring of 2021, the Gastaldello family, known in the sector as the founder and owner of the chemical company SYN-BIOS SpA based in Montebello Vicentino, acquired 100% of the shares of the business branch focusing on producing and selling machinery and technologies specific to the tanning industry. The historic brand, which has contributed to making the Arzignano leather-tanning district one of the most important in the world, still represents an important technical and commercial heritage today. After two years, the relaunch of Officine Poletto has been completed successfully, and promising prospects are on the horizon: the main production of milling drums – a segment in which the Poletto brand has been the leader worldwide for decades – is complemented with different ranges of other machinery, such as shaving, fleshing, and splitting machines. “After a couple of years – affirms Enrico Gastaldello – we can say we are thoroughly satisfied with the operation, which we have decided to carry out given our in-depth knowledge of the sector gained over the decades through our main business. This prompted us to branch out in the machinery sector and to acquire a brand that has written the history of the tanning industry. The operation was both initiated and completed amid the pandemic, in an uncertain and delicate economic situation; however, this was not a risky strategy from an entrepreneurial point of view, it was accurately thought out. Davide Poletto works alongside us at Officine Poletto as sales manager, thus keeping the role he held before the acquisition.” With the purchase of the brand and of the company branch, the Gastaldello family thus gained all the Poletto know-how. It was decided to keep the same workforce, maintaining the qualified personnel already in place, therefore boasting experience in the specific sector. “Poletto – the owners add- represents a legacy and brand renowned worldwide.
