Lenzi Egisto®, which makes research its top strength, focuses on the development of new perforation resistant materials
For over 120 years, the Tuscan company has been the market leader in the development of fabrics that we could define as intelligent, namely innovative materials that guarantee top-level technological performance. Constantly developing its range, Lenzi Egisto® is able to offer tailor-made and extremely revolutionary solutions for the sector, with consequent significant advantages for all its customers. We talk about it with Daniele Leoni, the company’s Sales Manager, who anticipates that the highlight, in terms of product solutions, will be an innovative plate designed to meet the new safety regulations for safety shoes.
What are the new launched at the latest edition of Lineapelle?
“Among this year’s innovations, first of all stand out the recycled materials. We are focusing more and more on this activity for two main reasons: the first is ethical, of course. The second arises from the increasingly strong push from the international market: Italy and Europe (Northern Europe is the leading one), flanked by America, which has finally become aware of the issue. In addition to this, we have focused on developing a new product, which we have called PREMIUM X, designed to make the insole more resistant to nail perforation. There will soon be a change in legislation which provides two types of perforation: one of four and a half millimeters like now, but also a new one that resists finer nails, measuring three millimeters. Always with an eye to the future, even on this occasion, we wanted to be first, developing new edges that respond to this last directive.”
One of your flagship products is Putek, a textile made with exclusive yarns covered with polyurethane for utmost abrasion resistance. Have you planned any new developments?
“Absolutely: we have increased the number of articles, creating new designs and new solutions, always for mountain and safety uppers. At the same time, we have translated the same technology into fabrics suitable for motorcycle and technical clothing in general.”
Technical materials but also attention to style, right?
“For sure. The work shoe, meant as a safety shoe, has totally changed over the years, thanks also to the textile foils we invented over twenty years ago. Now it’s much more like a sneaker. They are very light and adapt very well to both a young and an older target.”

“We were very satisfied. The turnout may not have been at the levels of the previous edition in September 2022 but the quality of customers who attended was very high. We are really happy; it fully met our expectations.”

“Sustainability linked to toughness, that is recycled materials featuring high-quality and performance. We are designing sustainable materials boasting great tenacity. Safety first!”
