Main Group, the new technology for PU recycling

Main Group takes another step forward in the materials recycling technologies and launches the new pu recycling system

It is called MGT ECOLINE® pulverization line, the new system launched few months ago that allows the transformation of PU, EVA or rubber production waste into powder, with a variable grain size between 400 mμ and 600 mμ, obtaining a high-quality final product. That’s the technological heart of the new solution for the recycling of PU, which adds to those for the recycling of EVA and thermoplastic materials of PU, EVA or rubber production waste into powder, with a variable grain size between 400 mμ and 600 mμ, obtaining a high-quality final product. That’s the technological heart of the new solution for the recycling of PU, which adds to those for the recycling of EVA and thermoplastic materials developed in recent years. Thanks to this series of peripheral systems, able to work fully integrated with the Main Group machines, it is possible to reintroduce into the production process all production waste that was previously unrecoverable. An essential innovation to reduce material waste and obtain benefits from both an environmental and economic point of view – given the rise in costs and the ever-increasing raw materials’ shortage.
“Due to market needs or management thoughtfulness, companies are now increasingly caring about sustainability – underlines Mariano Bonato, president of Main Group Technologies. – But there is no sustainable production without the technology that supports its needs: we have been working on this for several years now. We have followed three directions: the reuse of waste materials, production efficiency through data analysis and automation. For each one, we created a dedicated division with highly specialized skills: Green Solutions (born from the collaboration with the Pegaso Group), DataLab and Main Group Automation. In this way, we are able to offer our customers tailor-made solutions, qualified and guaranteed by our experience to build the factory of the future.”
Green Solutions was conceived as a company specialized in the design and manufacture of production lines for soles based on the principles of material recycling, traceability and automation: a division with specific skills capable of following customers in all phases of plant construction, from preliminary design and evaluation up to construction and commissioning.
Main Group has also developed the DataLab division, specialized in providing companies with tools to make machines intelligent systems to transmit the information necessary to improve quality, reduce costs and perfectly plan maintenance.
Even the data analysis, which production plants are increasingly able to collect and transmit, is actually an essential part of making production more efficient. The new divisions complement and strengthen the offer of Main Group Technologies, a historic manufacturing brand boasting a long tradition, a history made of technology and innovation. In over 80 years it has become the reference technology for the injection molding of the main companies in the footwear sector. The Venetian group, based in Santa Maria di Sala, has served over 16,000 customers from all over the world with its machines, for which it still provides assistance and spare parts today.
Technology specialization, customer care, value in the result to be obtained, cost-effective production and attention to the human being and the environment, these the strengths of Main Group Technologies whose machines, robust and reliable, are also among the most advanced technologies for safety footwear and boots in Polyurethane, TPU, Polyurethane+TPU and Rubber. Just to mention a few examples of Main Group Technologies’ production: static machines with 2 or more stations (simple to manage and highly productive), rotary machines for boots, with quick-attach mold holder and opening door, the EVA injection, compared to traditional thermo-forming; in the rubber field, open/closed mold injection-casting; in the polyurethane field, the injection of TPU+PU in an integrated cycle on the same machine. To all this, constant research work on automation has been added over the years, with the ever-increasing integration of robots to support loading and unloading operations and the development of tools to make production more efficient. In 2020 Main Group also acquired 100% of the Technetronic company (now Main Group Automation), a center of excellence in the design, production and service of robotics and industrial automation solutions based in Limena (Padua).
Main Group Technologies has evolved over the years, organized with modern industrialization criteria, after uniting new industrial and financial forces. The modern 4000 sqm factory is entirely dedicated to setting up, assembly and testing of machines.
