The history of OMFAS began more than half a century ago, when in 1954 the founder Andrea Ferrandino decided to open a mechanical workshop for the repair and resale of machinery for the tanning industry in Solofra (Avellino province). Over the decades, through the different generations, the company has grown, evolved and perfected itself: today, it is an international brand offering a wide array of products. OMFAS is specialized in the manufacturing and installation of customized machines for the tanning industry and, thanks to the experience and skill in engineering and production acquired in more than fifty years, it is able to provide highly qualified assistance to the customer in the post-sales phase, guaranteeing personalized, rapid and efficient solutions for any type of problem that may arise during the use of the machinery. The company is constantly oriented towards innovation and the development of its machines and production techniques, and its approach has always been aimed at satisfying every customer need. In fact, according to OMFAS technicians, engineers and analysts, there are no standard solutions, since each machine is designed based on the needs of the specific customer. During a preliminary meeting with the customer, the team understands his needs in order to develop a technical and economic offer that responds as much as possible and, having collected the data necessary for the design and manufacture of the machinery, develops the project and defines the testing criteria, such as the parameters to which the tests that will be carried out on the finished product must meet to ensure that the initially agreed requirements have been fulfilled. The OMFAS mechanical workshop is equipped with a very large and roomy warehouse, which allows the storage of several spare parts; this is an indispensable feature in times of immediate need, to ensure prompt interventions for the operational restart of the machines, operations ranging from the replacement of worn parts to the reconstruction of structural parts, to the search for electronic anomalies. OMFAS’ constant drive towards innovation and quality is highlighted, among other things, by the use of Waterjet cutting technology. The system takes advantage of a high-pressure supersonic hydro-abrasive jet to make extremely precise cuts on any material up to 150 millimeters thick, without causing chemical damage or abrasion to the surface. It can be used for materials that cannot be processed with laser, and the speed and precision of the process significantly reduce costs, guaranteeing high quality standards, both in-house, for the production of new machines and unique design pieces, and to third parties, service that OMFAS offers throughout the national territory. One of the most interesting machines produced by OMFAS is the Duplex stainless-steel drum, in the Platinum and Gold versions. Available in standard or customized sizes, it is equipped with a 10” touch screen PLC control panel, has a load-bearing structure made of AISI 304 stainless steel and is equipped with high quality components exclusively made in Italy. Its design is refined, with customized logos and graphics, but the distinctive element is the new interconnection software, which allows remote control from any device. The company is also implementing a computerization process to improve internal communication and company efficiency, always in compliance with current regulations on workplace safety and environmental protection, in step with the times and innovations in the sector.
