Pajusco Tecnologie, a new year in the name of reorganization

In 2024, Pajusco Tecnologie will benefit from a new warehouse in the artisan district of Arzignano, close to several tanneries and chemical factories

Pajusco Tecnologie foresees an important 2024. For over 60 years the company, based in Montebello Vicentino (Vicenza province), has been producing advanced systems for the tanning industry, in particular automations and drums with related accessories; the next year (but it is not excluded that this could happen as early as December), it will go through an enlarging process, adding to its historical headquarters a second warehouse in the industrial area of Arzignano, in via Enrico Fermi, next to many tanneries and chemical companies that make up the leather district, which is one of the most important and structured in the world.
“Everything has already been set for several months,” explained owner Olimpio Storti at his stand during the September 2023 Tanning Tech trade fair, held at the Milan fairgrounds. “The move was supposed to take place during the summer, but then due to the amount of work and orders to be fulfilled we were not able to do it. In the worst-case scenario, we will use the Christmas holiday break to proceed with the move, which will be crucial for the reorganization of production activities. We have invested a lot in this project, the space at the Montebello site had become cramped due to the new requirements related to the increase in work in recent years. In the meantime, we are looking for new personnel to respond to market demands, while we have already planned further investments in new machinery”. How will the reorganization of work at Pajusco Tecnologie change with the new depot? Olimpio himself, who runs the company together with his brothers Silvio and Giovanni, explains: “This site features offices, warehouse and storage. The headquarters will remain in Montebello, specifically the management, administration, technical office and research & development staff, while part of the production will be moved to Arzignano, as well as the electrical and automation departments. An initial transfer of a group of employees is planned, which will then be further supplemented by other personnel, depending on recruitment and the distribution of the various work groups according to orders. Certainly, the increased space in both sites will allow us to move more quickly, with undeniable advantages in terms of timing and work shifts.”
In view of the new year, business strategies are also defined, linked to market demands. “If the political situation and international scenarios allow it,” Olimpio Storti concludes, “we will go back to visiting our main clients, as we did in the pre-Covid period, in other words we will go back to being ‘aggressive’ as we have always been in our past. On a global level, the economic scenario remains uncertain, and it is to be expected that a wait-and-see phase will persist, at least during the first half of next year. In recent times, demand has decreased, entrepreneurs are more and more willing to spend little, precisely because of the uncertain situation, which is holding back the purchase of machines, especially highest priced ones. The advantage of Pajusco is that we are also active on small jobs, we are able to supply single devices or parts to be connected, for example, to drums of all sizes. The business owners who are reluctant to make investments realize, however, the importance of upgrading automation, with the aim of ensuring an overall improvement of the machinery, especially in terms of control and certification, perhaps in view of the new regulations coming into effect.”
