Pranem Step3200 revolutionizes work shoe lining

The latest innovation developed by PraneM was presented at Lineapelle: it is a new spacer antistatic polyester fabric with unbroken filament guarantees the dissipation of static electricity in compliance with the EN ISO 20344 standard

It’s called Step3200 and it marks the latest frontier in antistatic solutions to be applied to work shoes. Presented at the latest edition of Lineapelle, the innovation by PraneM is a three-dimensional polyester fabric featuring a particular antistatic treatment which, once applied as a lining in the heel area, and therefore in direct and extensive contact with the foot, allows to transfer electrostatic charge to the insole and then to the sole.
“In safety footwear – explains Gabriele Diddi, chief executive of the Tuscan company – it is usually also necessary to have an antistatic insole cover (so-called cleaning lining) or one with a conductive seam yarn. Step 3200 is able to ensure the antistatic properties of the shoe in a different way from the traditional one, i.e. regardless of the presence or absence of the original cleaning lining. The insole is the element of the shoe more likely to wear out due to the stresses caused by weight loads and movement. The idea behind the project is to let the removable antistatic insole to be replaced with any insulating model – therefore cheaper and more versatile – without compromising the compliance of the work shoe with the safety obligations required by the final use.”
PraneM’s challenge is to have identified the perfect antistatic treatment: “The “traditional” antistatic chemical agents tend to migrate with consequent loss of conduction. The tests carried out on Step 3200 demonstrate the stability of the dissipation values over time.”
All the features of the 3D construction remain unchanged: high transpiration and dispersion of humidity, lightness, comfort.
