Rifra Nastri, weaving the future

Innovation and research for a market on the move: Rifra Nastri faces new challenges by investing in the expansion of its headquarters and preparing for a generational change.

From the words of owner Roberto Riva, interviewed during the last edition of Lineapelle, emerges a solid and future-oriented reality. With over thirty years of experience, Rifra Nastri produces a wide range of loom and crochet elastic tapes, braids and cords. A variety that makes it possible to satisfy every specific need in the footwear, industrial, safety, electromedical and clothing sectors. A success story that of the Lombard company that is intertwined with the future of Made in Italy. “2023 was a year of transition,” explains Roberto Riva. “Companies were unfortunately faced with a complex market situation, brought about by a number of cumulative factors. The previous year had seen a boom in sales, with a production level that exceeded the absorption capacity of the market. But we are not worried.”
Indeed, the company is looking to the future with confidence, keeping investing.
“In our sector, as in others, we are witnessing a period of great activity. Some companies are closing and being acquired by others, creating new opportunities for those who are ready to seize them. Difficulties can be a time of growth for those who know how to look ahead and invest. If one passively waits for things to improve, one risks being left behind. Instead, those who have the courage to make choices at this time can gain a competitive advantage. This is demonstrated by the fact that we are about to make a major investment to expand our headquarters.” says Riva.
Despite the economic situation, Rifra Nastri is ready to ride the wave of change and explore new markets, also thanks to the third generation joining the company. “We are entering the sports sector, particularly cycling,” says the company owner. “In addition, we are working with work&safety and the military, sectors that are expanding rapidly.” He concludes: “The entry of the third generation into the company represents an injection of new energy that will enable us to face the future. In an uncertain economic environment, our ability to innovate, diversify and adapt to new trends makes us confident and ready to seize new opportunities.”
