Stefano Corsini, The pleasure of being unique

Stefano Corsini cinturificio
“Made in Italy with love”: the slogan Stefano Corsini chose to summarize the company’s mission could not be clearer.

For over forty years the company has been carrying on the tradition of local leatherwork in Sicily, an area where, despite the presence of very high-level manufacturing, belt factories certainly do not abound. Stefano Corsini is one of the top five belt manufacturers in Italy and it stands out for the clean and elegant style of his products, even those that are a bit “over the top”. The company’s new CEO Lidia Maltese answered a few questions in order to provide us with a brief overview on the brand.

From Sicily to the world. What’s your relationship with the global market? We are the only belt factory in Sicily and we are proud of it. We have a sales network in Italy with representatives in almost all regions and a series of distributors for abroad; we are present in Canada, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, until a few years ago we were also present in Russia, where we still have good customers. In addition to this we are present in almost all European countries.

Is yours a handcrafted manufacture? Absolutely, there’s a lot of handwork in our production, we employ highly specialized personnel, some of them have been with us for thirty or forty years. It’s difficult to find skilled workers here in our region, which is why we hang onto them.

How do you combine the highest quality with the need to address a wide market segment? We have models for all tastes and needs. At the fairs we usually show up to 600 different models, it’s a truly complete sample collection that includes different materials and modeling, and many articles specifically designed for different countries. We offer modern but still sober and elegant products for the most part, even if with the “Rebel” line we have fun doing innovative and colorful things, making use of stretch materials and crossings colors. Anti-metal detector belts were an invention that led us to use a material we did not use before, an acetate. The product turned out to be a winner, for the use of color and for the packaging too, a methacrylate cylinder. www.stefanocorsini.it
