Innovative and less impactful products, without losing the technical performance, and offering safer products for the user, to get towards “zero discharge” of hazardous substances: this is the mission of SYN-BIOS SpA, which, thanks to its range of chemicals recognised around the world for their quality and sustainability, has been operating in the tanning industry for over thirty years, with a particular focus on upholstery and automotive and, more recently, also in the cosmetics and detergent sector.
Founded in 1988, the company located in Montebello Vicentino (VI), which has always been at the forefront in the selection and introduction of revolutionary solutions, is today one of the leading companies in the tanningchemicals field, chosen as a reliable partner and supplier by companies from all over the world, appreciated for the high quality, the excellent performance and the technical features of its products: decades of experience, together with contingent investments in the R&D division, have led to the realization of a wide range of solutions, both for wet-end and for finishing, in addition to the widely recognized lines of pigments.
During the renewal of the ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications for research, development and production of chemicals for leather treatment, SYN-BIOS SpA has also achieved the mentioned certification for R&D and production of detergents and cosmetics.
The idea of further expanding the production range, dealing with sectors different from the usual core business of SYN-BIOS SpA, was conceived and developed during the year 2020, when, in the middle of the lockdown, the only activities allowed – in addition to those related to basic needs – were those aimed to the production of sanitizing/disinfecting products, key players of a dizzying increase due to the health emergency. In this uncertain scenario, SYN-BIOS SpA took the opportunity to convert part of its activity into the production of sanitizing products for skin (cosmetic sector) and surfaces (detergent sector).
This new range is manufactured fully respecting the environment, thanks to good manufacturing standards (GMP), successfully pursuing the path already undertaken with the company participation in the ZDHC program, which SYN-BIOS SpA has joined by subscribing to the dedicated gateway and certifying some of its main product ranges. The aim is to ensure the obtaining of leather articles that fully comply with the increasingly stringent specifications required by the major brands.
The work started in 2020 was only the beginning: SYN-BIOS SpA has taken the commitment to bring its products to a ‘safety’ degree that can ensure their compliance with the strictest specifications.
