Green Deal Leather – Workshop to be held at Lineapelle Fairgrounds

Working towards zero accidents in the tanning and leather sector is the focus of the next Green Deal Leather (GDL) meeting, to be held during Lineapelle next September 19th, at 14:00, in the LEM conference hall - Ponte dei Mari (pav 22 side).

Green Deal Leather, a two-year EU funded project, aims to generate representative reference data at sector level on workplace safety and the carbon footprint of leather for the European tanning industry. The European social partners are united in working towards a tanning and leather sector which is does not harm workers or the environment and produces high quality sustainable leather generating thousands of decent jobs across Europe.

The schedule of the forthcoming workshop will take place as follows:

14:00 – Opening words by Manuel RIOS, President of COTANCE, and Espeth HATHAWAY, Senior Policy Adviser, IndustriAll-Europe

14:30 – Presentation of the Green Deal Leather project by Gustavo GONZALEZ-QUIJANO, Secretary General of COTANCE

15:00 – Presentation of the study on “accidents/injuries at the workplace” by Silvia PEDRANA, UNIC, followed by a Q/A

16:00 – Conclusions by Patrizia PITRONACI, Policy Adviser, IndustriAll-Europe
